Ask TCCA a QuestionWho should take OSHA 10 Construction training?
OSHA 10 Construction is intended for entry-level construction workers and individuals who need foundational construction safety knowledge. It is useful for laborers, apprentices, contractors, and employees entering the construction industry.
What safety topics are covered in OSHA 10 Construction?
Training introduces common construction hazards, including falls, electrical hazards, struck-by hazards, caught-in or between hazards, personal protective equipment, and other essential jobsite safety practices.
Is OSHA 10 Construction different from OSHA 10 General Industry?
Yes. OSHA 10 Construction focuses on construction-specific hazards, while General Industry training focuses on workplace hazards found in industries such as manufacturing, warehousing, and healthcare. The courses are not interchangeable when an employer or jobsite specifies a particular industry card.
Will I receive an official DOL OSHA 10 Construction card?
Yes. After successfully completing the required training hours and course requirements, students receive an official OSHA 10 Construction completion card through the U.S. Department of Labor.
Should I take OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction?
OSHA 10 is generally best for entry-level construction workers seeking foundational safety awareness. OSHA 30 provides more extensive training and is better suited for supervisors, foremen, and workers with safety responsibilities. Your employer or jobsite may specify which course is required.
